Why it is worth the trip
The event uses streets, costumes, craft demonstrations, historical dance and the Castle of Carini to make local history spatial and participatory rather than something read behind glass.
What a viral clip leaves out
The organizer's current programme confirms the 26-27 September 2026 date span and lists the activities, but it does not yet publish daily clock times. It also names falconry among the programme items without publishing the spectator distance, welfare or handling rules Italy Now would need before describing close participation.
Access and planning
The official festival page places the third edition in Carini's medieval centre, the Castle area, the streets and Piazza Duomo. It specifically says the newly restored prison cell with historic ship engravings will be visitable free of charge. That narrow statement does not prove free or unrestricted access to every Castle room, activity or private space, and no festival-wide booking rule is currently published.
Can you return without a car?
The current festival pages do not publish a responsible operator timetable, special shuttle, parking plan or verified last departure for either day. Return without a car remains unknown until the organizer, Comune or transport operator publishes the operational plan.
