Why it is worth the trip
Pizzica becomes a shared public language here: the travelling programme, the musicians and the gatherings across Salento connect a living tradition to a contemporary crowd.
What a viral clip leaves out
The Concertone was one night inside a longer itinerant festival. The Melpignano gathering took place on 22 August, and the official 2026 route concluded with La Notte delle Ronde in Galatina's historic centre from 21:00 on 23 August.
Access and planning
The Foundation described the Galatina finale as an open, participatory night, but its page did not publish one generic price, booking rule or closing time. No next-edition date is currently confirmed; follow the series for the responsible-source announcement.
Could you return without a car?
The special FS Sud Est services, dedicated buses, parking and accessibility arrangements published by the Foundation were for the 21-22 August Concertone in Melpignano. They did not prove a late return from the 23 August Galatina finale. The return status for that completed night remained unverified.
