The architecture is memorable, but the place becomes clearer when you notice how a heritage centre functions as a living town.
What social media leaves out
UNESCO identifies two trulli districts and several separate component sites, and describes the property as a historic urban landscape that is still inhabited. A street view is not permission to enter a private home, accommodation or shop; individual museums and monuments have their own opening and admission rules.
